Where credits come from and what spends them

The four ways credits arrive, which actions cost them and which are free, the order they're spent in, and what to do when a generation is refused.

What credits are for

Credits pay for the work a machine does on your behalf: generating a page, reworking a block, generating an image. Everything else in the product — editing, saving, publishing, switching templates — costs nothing and always will.

Your balance sits in the Creative Space editor, and the full history is on the Billing & Payments page.

Where they come from

Signing up. A starting balance arrives once your email is verified. Once per account.

Claiming them each month. There's a monthly allowance, and it's yours to claim — it isn't dropped into your account automatically, so an unclaimed month is a month you didn't get. Your email has to be verified, and Pro accounts claim a larger amount.

Monthly credits expire at the end of the month. They don't stack up while you're away, so a plan of "save them for a big project" doesn't work.

Buying a pack. Purchased credits don't expire. They sit there until something spends them.

Refunds. A generation that fails, or one you stop, is refunded. You don't need to ask.

What spends them

ActionCosts credits
Generating a pageYes
Rewriting the whole page in one goYes
AI refine on one blockYes, less than a full page
Generating an imageYes
Uploading your own imageNo
Colour, type and size tweaks in the properties panelNo
Saving, publishing, switching which page your address showsNo

The pattern is worth internalising: anything the model produces costs, anything you do yourself doesn't. The properties panel exists precisely so that small visual fixes don't go through the model.

The order they're spent in

Credits closest to expiring go first, and permanent ones are spent last. This happens on its own and is the order you'd choose anyway — this month's allowance gets used before the pack you bought, so nothing expires while you still have something that never will.

When you run out mid-project

The generation is refused rather than half-done, and nothing is deducted. You'll be offered whichever routes are open to you: claim this month's allowance if you haven't, upgrade, or buy a pack.

If none of those appeal, the properties panel still works. A page you've already generated can be adjusted, saved and published without spending anything further.

Reading your own history

The generation history lists what you asked for, what each one cost, and which ones were refunded. When a balance looks wrong, that list is the place to check first — usually it's an experiment you'd forgotten, or a refund that already landed.
