Introduction

YouCanFind.me respects the intellectual property of others and requires our users to do the same. This policy explains how to submit a notice if you believe content on YouCanFind.me infringes your copyright, and how an accused party can submit a counter-notice.

This policy follows the framework of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar common practices. It is part of our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

Submitting an Infringement Notice

If you are a copyright owner or an authorized agent and believe a page or content uses your work without authorization, please send a written notice to the designated contact below, including all of the following:

1. Identification of the work: A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (list each one if there are several).
2. Location of the infringing content: The specific URL(s) or information sufficient for us to locate the material (e.g., https://youcanfind.me/username).
3. Your contact information: Name, address, telephone number, and email address.
4. Good-faith statement: A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
5. Accuracy and authority statement: A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on its behalf.
6. Signature: A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent.

Incomplete notices may not be actionable. Please ensure your notice is complete and accurate.

Our Process

Upon receiving a valid notice, we will:

1. Review the notice for completeness and validity;
2. Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content;
3. Make reasonable efforts to notify the user who posted the content, including a copy of the notice.

Counter-Notice

If your content was removed and you believe in good faith that the removal was a mistake (e.g., you own the rights, are authorized, or it qualifies as fair use), you may submit a counter-notice including the following:

1. Identification of the content: A description of the removed content and the location (URL) where it appeared before removal.
2. Your contact information: Name, address, telephone number, and email address.
3. Good-faith statement: A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the content was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
4. Consent to jurisdiction: A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of a competent court in your location (or ours) and will accept service of process from the complaining party.
5. Signature: Your physical or electronic signature.

Send counter-notices to support@youcanfind.me. We may forward the counter-notice to the original complainant; if the complainant does not file suit within the period required by law, we may restore the content at our discretion.

Repeat Infringer Policy

We will, in appropriate circumstances, suspend or permanently terminate the accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers.

A Note on False Notices

Please note: under applicable law, anyone who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation in a copyright notice or counter-notice may be liable for the resulting damages, including legal costs. Do not abuse this process.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect upon posting on this page.
